Yes, this is my least favorite job every offseason, but at least this year it was fairly well spread out. Major shoutout to the seven teams avoided any overuse penalty at all:

• Gnawbone

• Santa Catalina

• Kelowna

• San Antonio

• Homestead

• Fairburn

• Pensacola

The rest of us receive MOSTLY a slap on the wrist, as almost all infractions were just a few IPs/ABs over the limit. However, a couple of escalations were required, for either significant overuse, or a multitude of minor infractions:

• Berlin: Gray @ 117% (loss of #6)

• Branson: Akin, Maldonado, Stanek, each a couple AB/IPs over (loss of #6)

• Brooklyn: Cabrera, Kuhl, each in the 113-117% range (loss of #6)

• Casper: Baker @ 116% (loss of #6)

• Charleston: Jung, Lynch @ 114-118% (loss of #6)

• Delano: 6 players overused; Peraza returned to Draftpool (plus loss of #5)

• Los Alamitos: Chafin, Darvish each in the 113-122% range (loss of #6)

• Rochester: Realmuto, Snell in the 113-114% range, Coulombe @ 121% (loss of #6, Coulombe suspended for playoffs)

• Sheboygan: Higashioka, Ort each by a couple AB/IPs, plus one trip to Library in 2025 (loss of #6)

• Thunder Bay: Martin @ 115% (loss of #6)

• Vancouver: Caballero, dArnaud, Hill, McKenzie in 115-119% range, Bloss @ 122% (loss of #5)

As outlined several times, I used the "grid" as an raw outline and tried to be as fair and reasonable as possible when making any adjustments. I'm open to hearing appeals, but before doing so, take a look at all the infractions league-wide to see if anything about your penalty seems out of line with others. Hopefully, we'll all keep improving on tracking our usage and this exercise can eventually disappear.

Life happens, I'm sure  I'll have overuse penalties every year.
