ABOUT KEN:
Earliest Baseball Memory: The Boston Red Sox versus St. Louis Cardinals in the 1967 World Series. The nuns let us take our transistor radios to school to listen to the games
Cherished Autograph or Photo Opp: Seeing my son get an autograph and photos with Todd Helton in spring training. Todd suggested the pictures.
Brushes with Fame: Choose as you wish: Meeting Eddie Giacomin and Brad Park at my brother’s friend’s home in the early 1970s (the Rangers were in town for an exhibition game versus the Boston Bruins in RI). My brother’s friend’s father was close friends with Eddie Giacomin. Being friends with John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. I played softball against Pat Lupo, the bass player. Getting backstage and meeting and chatting with Jeff “Skunk” Baxter and Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. As a bellhop, doing a room change for Claus von Bulow while he was in town to meet Alan Dershowitz during his murder appeal.
Shirt Size: Larger than life
Biggest Trade Regret: Trading Tarik Skubal
Streaming TV Networks: Ask the wifey, she tees up the shows we watch.
I’m Loyal to This Brand: As Humphrey Bogart eloquently said: “I stick my neck out for nobody.” “I’m the only cause I’m interested in.”
Favorite Vacation: Traveling to Italy
Best Uniform in All of Sports: The 1970’s Oakland Athletics uniforms complete with the white spikes.
Why I Love PGB: The “brotherhood”. The engagement of all GMs. The podcasts. GoCon. The interesting personalities.
