Godfather's Pizza in Brooklyn Park has been serving the community (and indirectly, Polo Grounds Baseball) for 53 years. Today, we learned that their last day of business will be this Sunday March 22, 2026.

From there Facebook page: "Many youth have started their working careers at this location. Many families, many youth groups in the community have been fed by this business. So if you don't mind, please make an effort, to have a pizza night for your family or youth groups this week and stop by to show your support and to say your goodbye to a staple of the Brooklyn Park community. Thank you for all the great memories"

Minnesota locals, feel free to join the Groundouts at Godfathers on Thursday from 4-7 for one last pie. Hope to see you there!

@scc First of all, special shoutout to former Mayflower compatriot Dan Saefke for the tip on the closing! We didn't necessarily close the place down, but I think they stopped accepting walk-ins because they were out of pizza by about 7:30. A steady stream of traffic all night, and Swen and Russ were able to join in for the farewell. Hadn't been there in at least ten years, but the pizza has not changed at all. And as a circle of life moment, the place will close for good the same hour we kick off our 2026 season.

@casper Thanks for sharing! The pizza looked solid and I could see Strat cards on the table!
