ABOUT SPARKY:
Earliest Baseball Memory: Attending a Twins game with my Dad and brother at the old Met. I think Harold Baines was a Sox outfielder. I think the Twins beat the Sox 18-4. game was probably in the mid 70’s.
Correction to my earliest baseball memory: I was curious so I had to look it up. The game was played on Saturday July 24 1976. The Twins won 17-7. Google tells me Lyman Bostsock hit for the cycle that day.
Second correction: I found the box score Twins 17, White Sox 2. Baines was not in the line up. My memory is a fond one, just not very accurate.
Brushes with Fame: When I was a small child I road in an hotel elevator in Duluth with Hubert Humphrey and Walther Mondale. My brother was with me and we were in our swim suits coming from the hotel pool. There was also secret service agents with them. Since my brother was probably around 5 he had no idea who they were.
