Cam Schlittler(4-2) finally bested his Berlin opposite, Cade Horton(4-4), by the score of 1 to 0. Berlin pitcher Horton gave up the game's only run in the 3rd inning. That early run support was enough for Schlittler and Homestead. Berlin had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Schlittler got help from Kenley Jansen who earned his 3rd save. Paul Henderson was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more white hairs on this noggin of mine.' Pensacola fell behind quickly as the Thunder Bay offense came through in the first inning plating one baserunner on 3 hits. Thunder Bay had a total of 9 hits for the game. Michael Wacha(8-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Chris Sale(3-3) was given the loss. Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 12 batters in 6 innings.
